Transitional Housing Program
Funded by a three year grant from the Department of Commerce, the Transitional Housing Program provides housing and access to services for individuals who have recently completed inpatient psychiatric or chemical dependency treatment, or have just been released from jail or prison. This program is designed to serve as a temporary bridge, with the ultimate goals of helping clients attain permanent housing, steady employment, and/or returning to school.
Clients are permitted to remain in the program for up to one year. During that time there is a case manager that works intensively with the clients to help them overcome barriers that are preventing them from getting back to work or school or helping the person apply for financial benefits. They also get assistance with day to day needs such as food and clothing, transportation, life skills, following through with appointments, getting identification and advocacy.
