INTERPRETER INFORMATION

Island County Superior Court Language Assistance Plan

Island County Superior Court Administration will schedule and appoint an interpreter for persons who are a participant in a proceeding by having been subpoenaed, summoned, or otherwise requested by the court to appear per RCW 2.42 (hearing impaired) and RCW 2.43 for criminal cases.

In civil proceedings the cost of providing the interpreter is the responsibility of the non-English speaking person, unless the person is indigent and demonstrates indigence to the court. Please see links below to request a waiver of interpreter fees:
